Weather-Triggered Ad Experiences
Weather-triggered creative uses weather context to vary an ad's presentation. ATD Partners shows rain, snow and fog effects as examples of this approach.
The creative connects the message with a weather setting. It should still explain the brand and offer clearly; an animation is part of the presentation, not a substitute for the message.
Unique. Relevant. Effective.
- Serve contextually relevant ads to users in their city
- Layer on snow, fog or rain animations
- Placements that reflect current weather conditions
How Weather-Triggered Creative Works
The format links a visual treatment to a weather condition relevant to the campaign. Planning needs to connect the condition, the creative response and the location context.
That is different from assuming an ad knows an individual viewer's exact surroundings. The weather source, geographic coverage and update rules determine how a particular execution can work.

Rain, Snow and Fog Examples
Rain: a rain effect adds a visible weather treatment to the ad.
Snow: a snow effect gives the creative a wintry presentation.
Fog: a fog effect provides another weather-related variation.
These are creative examples, not measured campaign outcomes. The example festival artwork illustrates an ad treatment; it is not an announcement of an ATD Partners event.
Plan the Message Around the Context
Start with a message that makes sense for the weather condition being considered. Keep the call to action readable and the destination relevant across creative versions.
Before activation, establish which conditions trigger a change and what creative appears when a condition is not met. Those decisions belong in the campaign's creative and media brief.
